It’s so rational, reasonable, and thorough — seems so fitting and normal — that it might not quite get the moment of savoring it deserves (and I’m a little late myself!): the Executive Order entitled “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.”
Yes, yes, it thoroughly addresses the drenching of our entire federal government, and by extension all the other levels of government and thus by extension, industry, business, and finance, with gender ideology, the toxic religion of “non serviam”: the devil’s rejection of the most fundamental thing we know about man, that “male and female He created them.”
It offers blessed relief to children being sucked into the dark realm of “gender affirming care.”
It rightly recognizes the primacy of conscience in this matter: we cannot be made to say something we know is untrue.
But let’s revel in two wonderful aspects of this order:
First, it replaces the word gender with the word sex.
Gender is narcissistic academic-speak, the pompous assumption that there is some arcane knowledge of which we mere peons are ignorant, knowledge that a priori justifies the elite takeover of common sense. It’s all a construct, you see; hold still while we force it down your throat!
We all think we know that there are just boys and girls, but our overlords know better.
There are genders, they scolded us, and we had better conform to this new regime, arrogating to itself the power to separate the meaning of a person’s body from himself or else. But even if we tried to conform, it would do us no good, because like all leftist fever-dreams, it changes and morphs and you just never know when you are going to make a hideous mistake that will lead to a pierced, tattooed, tutu-wearing face-paint-loving crazy man screaming at you while the checkout line waits in cringing embarrassment.
I am so worn out when Catholics use the term “gender” and refer to “transgender persons” (as occurred in the truly scandalous statement put out by the bishops of my own state of Massachusetts who couldn’t bring themselves to defend girls and women at all, let alone articulate the truth about God’s creation).
As Cardinal Wilton Gregory creepily, snivelingly bends the knee to gender ideology, President Trump affirms there is just… sex. Two of them, to be precise. Just as we always knew. What a breath of fresh air!
Second, the order highlights the essential nature of sexual identity from conception, as is logically consistent.
One’s sex is not “assigned at birth” because it’s not changeable, nor can one do without it. It’s inherent.
From the executive order:
(d) “Female” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell.
(e) “Male” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell.
The executive order makes a point about biology, because that’s what we can apprehend with our senses, but doesn’t fall into the error of saying biology determines sex; it’s the other way around: for the human being, sex, as an ontological reality, determines biology. For an executive order, the wording here is properly, appropriately accurate and contained.
It’s a masterful document. I could not be happier about it and I look forward to the trickle-down effect. Maybe by June we can just enjoy a peaceful, faux-rainbow-free summer!
