Phill and Leila,

After reading CS Lewis' That Hideous Strength this Lent, I am now greatly concerned that both eugenics and brain longevity science is progressing at an alarming rate. He was surely a prophet back in 1945.

My concerns are that the super human race activity is happening both in communist and capitalist spheres.

The British Commonwealth nations (and America) are as active in this as China. There appears to be no way out.

I wish I could share with you a template for a counterattack on this front, it is called The Citadel. It could be a game changer. It is simple, memorable, and totally Catholic.

Come Lord Jesus, give us one final opportunity for repentance (with an illumination) and then please end this horrible spectacle.

Only rejecting conceiving the child outside the mother's womb and reclaiming the hierarchy of mother taking care of child and father protecting and providing for both, under God, will counterattack.

This is the plan. There is no other plan.

And yes, THS is just a documentary. Lewis could not have depicted reality more starkly. Remember how it ends, though... the husband, the wife...

Leila I agree with that ultimate goal. Training humanity to say No to the culture of death is what we must do to try to achieve this end.

Your IVF discussion adds much needed wisdom to the subject; thanks for the Cassandra moment, I had been wondering what would be the “next big thing” in the cultural revolution. (I keep thinking about Huxley’s Brave New World, where everyone viewed procreation and mothers as primitive. We’re almost there.)

Also, I love everything you said so clearly about the Mass as Sacrifice. I discovered that firsthand at the TLM when looking to convert. This is my second Easter as a Catholic.

You are a blessing to your subscribers. Happy Eastertide and may God bless and keep you both.

Laurus was a unique book. I watched Jonathon Pageau's interview with the author and ... there was a language barrier that made it a hard listen, but I did enjoy the story. I found it to be the story of the trajectory of a "holy fool," someone set to become one of those mythical Eastern characters that are both saintly and ridiculous.
