As a person the age of Leila and Phil's kids, this podcast comforts me in the way sitting around listening to your parents talk about "important things" in the living room comforts all children from young age and into adulthood (we never outgrow this, I think). Unfortunately, neither my parents nor my in-laws have much interest in these sorts of topics -- and so this fulfills a sort of yearning to be a student of a generation of wiser, more experienced Catholic adults. Too often this "grandparent" generation is trying to look, act, and be more progressive than their own kids are, leaving even those of us approaching middle age to wonder where all the adults have gone. Thank you for this "fireside chat" where we can learn, commiserate and observe an intelligent married couple who communicate so beautifully with one another.

Thank you so much, Elle, for this comment. We have been talking a lot about how we would like to try to communicate some things we learned and some things we think the newer generations just aren't aware of, and it makes us happy to know that someone gets it! And we also know we are still learning and have a lot to learn!

Thank you for another insightful, encouraging, and lovely podcast. I'm also in the group of young Catholics and though I do have the Summa Domestica(and love it!), it is SO nice to soak in your conversations while working around the house - especially the explanation of "Happy Despite Them."
