Our family loves All Creatures Great and Small, even our teenage boys! We are looking forward to the new season! The show got me interested in the author of the book, James Herriot, and his children’s stories. I was very happy that our local library had his Treasury for Children!

I MUST begin the All Creatures Great and Small series, thanks so much for mentioning—it sounds dangerously wholesome!

Glad you highlighted the need for US textiles and substantial natural fiber clothing again. While voting this year I was appalled at how flimsy voters’ clothing looked, no matter their social class, sex, or age. Personally, I can’t abide clothes which are partly sheer, or cut out, and besides, most of what is available is so thin it clings even when loose-fitting.

Oh, I tipped The Federalist.

Over the past three seasons, I've only cringed once or twice. It's not always faithful to the books, sometimes in silly ways. Mostly it's very wholesome and I deplore how they end every season with Seigfried saying "Merry Bloody Christmas" and have commented about it on their account. But otherwise I love it and especially the relationship between James and Helen, which is depicted without any hint, ever, of stupid feminist bitter conflict, but rather, with understanding and cooperation between them, even in hard times.

As a family we very much enjoyed the old series ACG&S when we watched it 10 years ago. Even our teen boys and tween girls. We read James Herriot as part of our first year of homeschool, and I’ve loved all his books for adults. I guess I’m going to have to try this new version. You make it sound lovely.

Some who are very attached to the old one do not like this new one, and I understand that! But I think they should give it a chance.
